The Gqeberha workshop display at Baywest Mall (Mezz A09) is built for manufacturers, joiners and fabricators in the Eastern Cape who are looking to improve their part-cutting workflow or start a new production line. Here, you will find compact machines suited to smaller floor plans and demonstration samples that match the region’s demand for efficiency, clean profiling and minimal bench clean-up. You can ask operators to show CNC nesting, profiling and handoff that fits the kind of jobs typically run in Gqeberha, Uitenhage, Dispatch or smaller coastal towns, taking local material supply and municipal grid limits into account.
This showroom was set up for established factories, start-up workshops and technical colleges across the Eastern Cape. It suits anyone needing small to medium production runs of plywood, MDF, acrylic, aluminium or compact laminate, or who works with kitchen, shopfitting or signage panels. If you are scaling up, battling with time lost to recutting and sanding, or want to see a real handoff-ready finish, the demo floor is worth a visit. Teams working on large volume steel or heavy industrial plate projects, or who need heavy three-phase equipment and gantries, may find more options at our Johannesburg North, Pretoria or Cape Town showrooms.
Your team books a session by email and lets us know what materials you use and the type of parts you want to see cut. When you arrive, an operator will talk through your nesting pattern, run a short demo on actual offcut or blank, and show edge quality and finish. You can compare handoff results that would save you clean-up time later on the bench. If you want to bring a sample DXF or PDF, we can load it up to cut a real piece (within showroom safety and time limits). Most sessions include a walk-through of the controls, basic maintenance points, and local supply advice for bits and material.
A joiner based in Walmer is struggling to keep up with retail kitchen orders due to time lost recutting fibre board parts and hand sanding edges after jigsaw work. They email us with their most common cabinet shapes and ask to see a demo for nesting cutouts. At Baywest, the operator loads their layout, shows how to group panels on one sheet, then runs a cut of four doors in 16mm white MDF. The joiner inspects the edge finish straight off the machine, finding it needs almost no sanding. They leave with samples that match their day-to-day shop load, realising how much bench time can be saved each week.
We want your visit to be practical and relevant to your shop floor. Before you book, prepare these basics so we can set up the right demonstration and avoid back-and-forth over email.
Most wasted visits happen when a team arrives without clear material specs or tries to test a sheet type we do not have in the demo stock. Some want to see a production run but bring files with unmatched units, layers or missing toolpaths, slowing the live cut. If you need a specific finish or non-standard sheet, ask first so we can arrange it. Please let us know early if you are dealing with short supply or municipal power issues, as this affects which setups we can show on the day. Our team tries to match demos as closely as possible to your real production, but good preparation always means a more useful outcome.
