Meet the teamCut2Shape is for the South African shop owner, manager, maker or fabricator who needs sheets of aluminium, acrylic, ACM or similar materials processed accurately and sent out as parts, not projects. If you want to skip the time-wasting grind of manual trimming and fit-up before assembly, our floor is set up for you. We speak in drawings, DXF, and clear measurements with buyers who value close tolerances and transparency on kerf width, not marketing fluff. This isn’t for those after the cheapest quick cut, or who don’t have a plan for the next process after parts arrive.
We run CNC machines in Sunnyrock, Germiston, handling sheets in all weathers, from Gauteng dryness to coastal Cape Town humidity. Every order starts with us checking your drawing, confirming the material on hand, then planning out the best nesting on real-world stock sizes. The operator primes the spindle, calls up the job, and runs a proofing check on scrap or test board so your first pass is clean, no surprises after the truck has left. We pack parts for distance, making sure they land in Durban, Gqeberha or Bloemfontein the same way they left our bench.
Each part comes with protective film and clear labelling for every step. We keep a log of every run and save the toolpath, so if your Polokwane foreman needs to repeat or adjust a batch in future, we can get it right without guesswork. Most customers who plan ahead find they spend less time on assembly and rework. If you need to make a late change or there is an outage, you can email us any time and we will help you keep moving.
Before you contact our shop, have your drawings or digital files ready. DXF is best, but we can quote and advise from a clear PDF if needed. Double-check that your dimensions match your needs, millimetres, not inches, and mind the decimal points. If you want us to supply the material, note your preferred grade and thickness, especially with aluminium or ACM due to local supply shifts. Mention the finish you want, so we can factor in masking or protective film if it’s needed.
For complex layouts or multi-part sets, write a quick list of quantities, part names, and what comes next for each part (welding, painting, or packaging). A photo of a hand sketch sometimes helps if the drawing is fussy. Email everything through our contact form and include your floor’s location for our planning.
A joinery in Durban sends a DXF for 30 panels, each to fit into a retail fixture run. They specify white-faced ACM, 3mm thick, with a 1mm kerf and all corners rounded. We nest the shapes to reduce offcut and email back a packed layout PDF for approval. Once the customer signs off, we load the stock, run a proof on an offcut, then CNC cut the production batch. Each piece gets a removable film and a sticker with its panel number. The parts are crated for a courier, arriving at the customer’s shop ready for assembly with no edge sanding or rerouting needed.
It pays to check your drawing scale before sending, many shops slip up by mixing inches and millimetres, which leads to a costly misfit. Unclear texts or photos without dimensions slow down quoting and increase the risk of a wrong profile. Tell us early if you need a special material or have urgent load-out dates, as some grades or thicknesses go in and out of local stock. If your operation runs shifts, mention this so we can time the handoff to suit your team.
We don’t suit clients who need hand tools, organic shapes with no defined edge, or project management services. Our work fits production floors and shops who know what they want to receive and can handle their own final assembly.
