What the spares bay covers

The spares bay is here for South African workshops running Cut2Shape machines that need fresh pads, new router bits, or zone valves. If the vacuum table’s just not holding as it used to or you’ve snapped a bit pushing through MDF, we help get you going again without a week of guessing. We keep core parts for the most common machines on our floor or in regular rotation, but the bay is not suited to one-off or nonstandard requests. If you’re running a machine from another brand or a legacy model from before 2016, our team may not stock or source every spare, best to check.

Your machine serial is essential for getting the correct part. Many imported units appear identical externally, but the internals can differ. When you give us clear details straight away, it cuts down on mistakes, especially during Eskom outages or unexpected courier hold-ups. For spares outside pads, bits, or valves, always email us first to check what’s possible, as timing depends on the part.

Who this service helps, and who it doesn’t

Our spares bay is designed for active machine operators, foremen, and owners who know their serial numbers and want the correct replacement, first time. If you maintain your own machines and appreciate reducing downtime, you’ll find our process straight. Large workshops around Gauteng, Cape Town, or Durban with regular production benefit most.

It’s less suitable for brokers, general fitters, or those hoping for full part catalogues or rapid same-day supply. We can’t help with unrelated automation components or electronics outside the specified parts. If you are unsure, check our support page or ask before placing an order so you avoid spending hours on the wrong part.

How to request spares from Cut2Shape

Send an email through our contact form with your machine serial, your required part type (pad, bit, or valve), and a short description of the issue. Photos help if you think there’s a chance a part’s been changed before. We’ll confirm what’s in stock, give you a lead time for out-of-stock items and let you know if additional details are needed.

Once you confirm, our team organises packing and arranges to get parts sent to your site, workshop, or collection point. Most weeks, workshops around the Highveld and coastal regions receive parts within a few days, but municipal paperwork or SARS vetting can sometimes hold up Gauteng courier runs. We recommend operators check resources and shipping & samples for more about lead times and supported machines.

Worked example: On the floor in Germiston

A joinery shop in Sunnyrock finds the vacuum holding on its main CNC is dropping during a custom plywood batch. The operator identifies worn table pads and a possible leak at the zone valve. They send a message through our contact form with the serial from the nameplate, mention the drop in hold, and attach a phone snap of the valve. Our team replies with availability for pads and offers advice on checking the valve for cracks before shipping. The operator replies with a decision to replace both, and new parts arrive within the week. The saw is back in action for its next cut list.

If you need general maintenance help, see our vacuum leak checks or spindle care pages for tips before ordering parts.

Common pitfalls and preparing your request

Many delays are traced to missing machine serials or mixing up pad and valve types. Without a serial, there’s always a risk of sending the wrong part, especially between different years or if a machine’s been rebuilt. Photos that hide wear or don’t show the part number might mean extra back-and-forth, costing you an extra day or two. Always include the serial, share the symptoms, and state if the machine’s ever been upgraded or repaired by outside technicians.

If your order is urgent or linked to a specific product run, let us know in your first email. We do our best to match what’s in stock with your need, but we’re upfront if there’s a delay. And if it’s something odd like a custom bit profile, we may recommend bit inventory or checking for a local supplier.
